The 9th edition of the Poltraf Conference will take place from September 30 to October 2, 2026. This edition will focus on modern measurement technologies for the industrial and water & wastewater sectors, with an emphasis on the practical aspects of the topics discussed. We have prepared a series of compelling case studies demonstrating what to look for when selecting, installing, and using various devices for measuring pressure, level, flow, and water quality.
As always, the first day of the conference promises a wealth of knowledge. We will begin with a presentation by Comac Cal, a Czech manufacturer of flow measurement equipment. The session will center on the Flow55 electromagnetic flowmeter designed for gravity-fed systems—a new product for us this year that has already generated significant customer interest. During the conference, attendees will be able to see a live demonstration of the flowmeter in action, including its IoT module, which enables remote network monitoring.

A presentation by a representative from Systec Controls—a German manufacturer of advanced flow measurement devices—will focus specifically on the Deltawave ultrasonic flowmeter. Through a case study, the presentation will illustrate the support provided to the customer by Systec Controls and Poltraf at every stage, from design and calibration to commissioning.

The next part of the conference will focus on radar-based flow measurement using the RSHU flowmeter from Bass Instruments. Attendees will receive practical advice on selecting the right installation site for the RSHU and commissioning the device.

The final two presentations of the first day will focus on analytical instrumentation. We will begin with a brief introduction to new products from AKSO—specifically, their testers. We will demonstrate, among other things, how to quickly and easily measure various water parameters using the AK series photometers (including free and total chlorine, color, ammonia, alkalinity, nitrites, iron, and fluoride). AKSO offers more than just portable, pocket-sized photometers for field use; their range also includes laboratory equipment for measuring pH, ORP, temperature, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and other parameters.

For the first time, our conference will host representatives from the Italian measurement equipment manufacturer Chemitec, who will present state-of-the-art devices for process measurement.
All presentations will be delivered in Polish or translated into Polish.
The Poltraf conference is designed for professionals seeking practical knowledge and inspiration regarding the application of innovative measurement technologies in their projects. It will also provide an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and engage in discussions with experts. This year’s gathering will take place in the picturesque village of Stare Sady (Mikołajki municipality) in the Masuria region, situated on the shores of Lake Tałty; alongside a substantial dose of knowledge, we guarantee conference participants a range of attractions designed to foster networking and relaxation.

How much wastewater actually ends up in the sewer system, and how much is recorded "on paper"? Many manufacturing plants still base their billing on water consumption, even though the actual amount of wastewater discharged can vary significantly. In an era of rising treatment costs and increasingly stringent environmental requirements, this approach is no longer acceptable. More and more companies are seeking reliable methods for measuring wastewater flow in gravity sewers, because without reliable data, there is neither control nor cost optimization. In this article, we will answer the question of how to measure wastewater flow in pipes that are not fully filled.
