The FBVP Vortex vortex flowmeter uses the phenomenon of vortex formation behind an obstacle in the flow of the medium. The partition generates vortices that alternately break off from its edges. The frequency of vortex separation is directly proportional to the average flow velocity, and therefore to the volume flow rate. During vortex separation, alternating momentary low pressure fields are created on both sides of the partition. The sensor located behind the partition detects them, counts them and converts them into a linear digital signal proportional to the speed of the flowing medium. The measurement is not affected by changes in pressure, density, temperature or viscosity. Therefore, the FBVP Vortex vortex flowmeter is a universal device for measuring the flow of gases, steam and liquids.
FBVP Vortex vortex flowmeters from Bass Instruments are used in many industries, such as the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, in the production and distribution of heat, to control the consumption of gases during production processes or to control the consumption of compressed air in production processes. Their versatility and very high measurement accuracy of 0.75% for liquids and 1% for gases and steam make them ideal devices for many applications. To achieve the highest accuracy, it is necessary to use the VTP option, i.e. pressure and temperature compensation. These products are characterized by high reliability and long-term stability, and the technology itself means that the flowmeters do not require calibration during the entire service life. The flowmeter is usually mounted using standardized DN flanges in pressure standards PN16 or PN40. In the case of non-standard process connections, it is possible to make connections on individual request. They can be used on pipelines with diameters from DN25 to DN700. Three temperature compatibility ranges: up to 150°C, 250°C and 350°C allow for measurements in the most demanding applications. Thanks to the MODBUS RTU and HART communication protocols, we can easily transfer data to superior systems. The devices are optionally available for explosion-hazard zones, which, combined with high IP67 tightness, and even optionally IP68, allows the use of FBVP flowmeters in the most difficult conditions.
